CARING FOR PASTORS

In the NAB Northwest we believe that healthy leaders in the local church are crucial to the health of that church.  Our pastors and their families need the same ministry of the church that they are providing to the church.  The Apostle Paul saw it as essential that every church he planted have godly elders appointed to lead, teach, and care for the local body of believers (Titus 1:5; Acts 14:23).  The importance of the quality and health of leaders in the local church can be seen in the qualifications of elders (1 Timothy 3:1-7; Titus 1:6-9).  The New Testament clearly lays out both the responsibilities of the elders to the church (1 Timothy 3:2; 4:2; 5:17; Titus 1:7; 1 Peter 5:1-2; Acts 20:17; 28-31; James 5:14) and the responsibilities of the church to the elders (Hebrews 13:7, 17; 1 Timothy 5:19-20).

Because of this we put a high priority on caring for our pastors, their staff, and their families.  We seek to do this by providing...
  1. Yearly retreats for individuals and couples for rest, refreshment and encouragement.
  2. Coaching and consultation through personal and ministry crisis.
  3. Fellowship and prayer with other pastors and their wives.
  4. Counseling for personal and ministry issues.
  5. Personal getaways for pastors and their families.
  6. Encouragement to churches in how to care for their pastor and staff.

In order to promote the health of our pastors, we have designated funds to be given out in the form of grants to encourage and assist pastors and their families.

NAB NorthWest

The NAB Northwest exists to resource, network, and enable local churches to become disciple-making congregations to the glory of God. And therefore, we have made it our aim to partner together, investing time and resources to strengthen the Great Commission, disciple-making health of our churches.
